Physical Data: solid at 25 °C; λ max = 295 nm; * E red 1/2 = 0.60 V vs SCE (MeCN; triplet); * E ox 1/2 = −1.63 V vs SCE (MeCN; triplet). 2,3 Solubility: dichloromethane, acetonitrile, dimethyl‐sulphoxide and most organic solvents. From Supplied in: commercially available. Preparative Methods: commercially available Me 2 SAuCl (1 equiv) was dissolved in dry dichloromethane (DCM) under a nitrogen atmosphere at room temperature. To this solution, bis(diphenylphosphino)‐methane (1 equiv) was added, and the reaction mixture was stirred for 1 h. After completion, the solvent was removed under reduced pressure, and the resulting complex was precipitated by the addition of diethyl ether. The white solid was obtained in quantitative yield by filtration and washed with diethyl ether. Purification: recrystallization in DCM and diethyl ether. Handling, Storage, and Precautions: the title compound is stable under ambient temperature and atmosphere. No such precautions are required for handling the compound.
