Abstract
Cover Public health recommendations are essential in raising global awareness on cancer prevention. The European Code Against Cancer (ECAC) provides evidence-based public health recommendations aimed at reducing cancer risk across Europe, by offering authoritative and practical prevention tools for individuals and policymakers. Its effective implementation could prevent up to 40% of new cancers in the European Union. This thematic issue covers the 5th edition of the ECAC (ECAC5). Compared to previous editions, ECAC5 includes the following major updates: By aligning cancer prevention with broader noncommunicable disease strategies, ECAC5 aims to enhance uptake and impact.
