AI Literacy for L2 Teachers
Abstract
As artificial intelligence (AI) shapes curriculum design, materials development, and assessment, teachers need competencies beyond basic digital literacy to address the complexities of AI‐supported instruction. This entry examines the concept of AI literacy, its relevance to language teaching, and associated ethical considerations such as data privacy and academic integrity. It emphasizes the importance of culturally responsive practices and offers practical recommendations, including strategies for professional development, fostering equitable access to AI tools, and integrating AI into formative assessments to enhance student learning and autonomy.
