Abstract

There has been an increased integration of technology in English medium instruction (EMI) programs since it serves as a pedagogical scaffolding tool for EMI teachers and a facilitating and supportive tool for EMI learners to succeed in the EMI programs. Despite these potential benefits, however, a number of challenges in using technology to mediate EMI implementation have surfaced both from pedagogical practices as well as practical experiences. This entry discusses the roles of technology in mediating medium instruction pedagogy for EMI teachers and EMI learning for EMI learners. This entry ends with the pedagogical implications these carry for learning, teaching, and assessment in EMI contexts.
