Abstract

Abstract A.ci.di.lu.ti.bac'ter. L. masc. adj. acidus , sour; L. neut. n. lutum , mud; N.L. masc. n. bacter , a rod; N.L. masc. n. Acidilutibacter , a rod from acidic mud. Bacillota / Clostridia / Tissierellales / Acidilutibacteraceae / Acidilutibacter The genus Acidilutibacter currently comprises one species with a validly published name. Cells are Gram‐stain‐positive, straight to slightly curved rods, occurring singly or in pairs, and motile via lophotrichous flagella. Spores are not observed. The species is moderately thermophilic and acidophilic, growing optimally anaerobically but tolerating 5% oxygen. It is chemoheterotrophic, requiring yeast extract and utilizing sugars, protein, and amino acids. The predominant fatty acid is iso‐C 15:0 , and respiratory quinones are absent. The genome of the representative species A . cellobiosedens is 3.51 Mb in size with a G + C content of 33.54 mol%, and encodes robust oxidative stress defenses. Known habitats are pits producing Chinese strong flavor liquor, anaerobic digestor, feces, and soil. DNA G + C content (mol%) : 33.54. Type species : Acidilutibacter cellobiosedens Fan et al. 2023, VL210.
