Corrosion Overview

This chapter provides the fundamentals of corrosion as a means to understand the corrosion behavior of Ni-base alloys. The aim is to provide a broad overview to calibrate readers. The electrochemical fundamentals of corrosion in terms of thermodynamics and kinetics are presented. Models of corrosion are highlighted. The various forms of corrosion are described. Corrosion test methods are described briefly.
