Abstract

This chapter presents the definition, anatomy, epidemiology, etiology and pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnostics, treatment, and rehabilitation of elbow dysplasia, traumatic fracture of the medial coronoid process, humeral intracondylar fissures, elbow luxation, flexor enthesopathy, radioulnar ischemic necrosis, and triceps avulsion. Elbow dysplasia is a group of developmental orthopedic conditions affecting the elbow joint. Affected dogs may have one or more of the following pathologies: fragmented medial coronoid process, osteochondrosis dissecans, ununited anconeal process, and joint incongruity. Flexor enthesopathy includes pathological changes that occur within the tendons of the flexor muscles, which originate from the medial epicondyle of the humerus. Radioulnar ischemic necrosis is enthesopathy of the radial/ulnar interosseous ligament, leading to a characteristic destruction of attachment site on radiographs.
