Abstract

This chapter focuses on the process of conducting inoculation research with an emphasis on study design, methods, and procedures. Different approaches for studying inoculation theory are first reviewed. Given the reliance on experimental research in inoculation scholarship, an in-depth exploration of key issues involved in designing and conducting an inoculation experiment is discussed next. The chapter concludes by addressing some key considerations and future questions for inoculation scholarship. Readers will leave this chapter with a better understanding of the design, methods, and procedures of inoculation research along with some future issues to consider in how we study inoculation theory.
