Abstract

The study of societies is among the fields that have undergone the most significant historiographical transformations over the past two decades, both in terms of thematic orientations and analytical scales. This evolution has fostered a more nuanced and balanced understanding of the phenomena confronting European societies during the conflict. This chapter examines various dimensions of these transformations in social organization, as well as the profound disruptions affecting both the public sphere and the private domain.
