Colorectal Cancer Screening
Abstract
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second leading cause of cancer death. Screening reduces both CRC incidence and mortality. There are several available screening tests, each with advantages and disadvantages, and varying levels of supporting evidence. This chapter discusses the evidence to support available modalities and factors to consider when selecting an approach to CRC screening. High-quality colonoscopy remains a cornerstone to effective screening since all modalities require colonoscopy to complete the screening process.
