Strategic Pathways to a Green Economy: Tackling Carbon Emissions
Abstract
In this chapter, a comprehensive review was undertaken to explore the key components affecting carbon emissions (CEs). Development and economic growth emerged as notable contributors. The analysis identified interaction development, economic growth, and their impact on CE. Additionally, the review investigated the role of agricultural growth, revealing that deforestation driven by agricultural activities is a major source of CEs. Different strategies for controlling and reducing emissions were highlighted, including promoting a green economy, green innovation, green credit, and green energy sources to face the energy requirements of different economic sectors. Therefore, it is crucial to reduce CEs in both industrial and agricultural sectors due to their substantial contributions to GHG emissions. Industrial activities often release notable amounts of CO 2 and other pollutants, exacerbating variation and harming environmental quality. Similarly, agricultural activities, particularly deforestation, land use changes, and livestock production, are major contributors to CEs. Implementing effective carbon reduction strategies, such as advancing green technologies, improving energy efficiency, and adopting sustainable farming activities, can reduce the environmental impact of these sectors, promoting a healthier planet and supporting sustainable economic development.
