Abstract

The agricultural supply chain is a complex network involving farmers, suppliers, distributors, retailers, and consumers. Traditional supply chain systems face challenges such as lack of transparency, inefficiencies, fraudulent activities, high dependency on intermediaries, and delayed payments. These issues lead to financial losses, food safety concerns, and unfair pricing for farmers. This research proposes an Agriculture Supply Chain Management System Using Blockchain to enhance transparency, traceability, security, and efficiency across the supply chain. The proposed system leverages blockchain technology to provide an immutable, decentralized ledger that records all transactions in a secure and verifiable manner. Smart contracts automate processes such as payments, order verification, and quality checks, ensuring fair transactions. IoT devices and QR code-based tracking enable real-time monitoring of agricultural products from farm to consumer, preventing counterfeiting and improving food safety. Additionally, blockchain-based solutions help eliminate middlemen, providing fair pricing and direct payments to farmers. This study explores blockchain's role in reducing fraud, improving logistics, and ensuring food security. Despite challenges such as high implementation costs and digital literacy barriers, blockchain-based agricultural supply chains offer a sustainable, transparent, and efficient solution for modernizing the industry.
