Human Intelligence vs. Artificial Intelligence
Abstract
This chapter is organized into three sections. The first section provides an overview of both human and artificial intelligence. The section begins with examining the history of understanding the nature of intelligence, followed by a review of the historical development and pathways leading to the creation of artificial intelligence. This discussion includes measuring intelligence and the comparative analysis of the similarities and differences between human intelligence and AI. The second section focuses on the limitations of human and artificial intelligence. These limitations are examined from two dimensions, sensory systems and cognitive systems. Cognition of intelligence was analyzed through five perspectives: efficiency, capacity, power, speed, and endurance. Finally, the third section explained the trustworthiness of AI. In particular, robustness and generalization as two of the most critical technical factors shaping the trustworthiness of AI systems.
