Abstract

As electric vehicles (EVs) become more prevalent in transportation, manufacturing businesses are pivotal for developing charging infrastructure. Ensuring the reliability of charging ports is a challenging aspect for the moderate charging circumstances of EVs, despite the charging station industries adhering to the criteria of the distribution system while building charging stations. Additionally, the inclusion of the vehicle-to-grid (V2G) feature is a significant advantage, as it allows for the discharge of EVs during periods of high demand. This leads to increased customer satisfaction due to the economic savings achieved by reducing the charging rates. This study examines the evaluation method of reliability probability in terms of the failure rate of the charging ports in the charging station of the power distribution system. It also explored the use of the binomial distribution probability approach. The quantitative analyses conducted in this study relied on the criteria outlined in the MILHDBK-217F and MILHDBK-338B.
