Abstract

Maps are an important part of many ethnographic projects and presentations. As such, this chapter explores mapping as an ethnographic method that allows researchers to capture and analyze uses and understandings of space and movements through and between spaces. Maps can represent large-scale geographic and geopolitical features that are relevant to one's ethnographic research, but maps can also reflect space and movement on a small scale and in interior spaces. Likewise, ethnographers can use maps to capture conceptual understandings of space and movement in productive ways.
