Abstract

This chapter offers the reader a number of different aspects to consider in working toward a final ethnographic product that will effectively communicate results to its intended audience. Ethnographers have to decide whether they are going to use one or more common conventions in ethnographic writing and presentation, including an arrival scene, stories of misunderstanding, case studies, and key figures. These decisions come in the context of evaluating how best to match presentation style to the subject matter, its intended audience, and the analytical approach employed. Ethnographic presentation styles range widely on a formal-to-informal continuum.
