Abstract

Company culture is the fundamental framework that determines how everything functions. It influences decision making, employee behaviors, leadership, and why and how work gets done. This chapter considers the following four elements to create a future-ready culture: kernel, processes, interface, and updates. Together, these four elements make up culture OS (culture operating system). Once the kernel—the organization's core values—are clearly defined and codified, the next step is to translate them into tangible processes and behaviors. The processes are on the organizational level. Then break the behaviors down into employee and leadership behaviors. Imagine an AI-enabled culture dashboard that tracks signals from collaboration tools, performance data, and recognition platforms to identify which teams are living the organization's values and which ones need support. In a hybrid world, cultural signals are easy to miss and much harder to reinforce.
