Nanocomposites in Aerospace and Defense
Abstract
Advances in nanotechnology have led to the creation of an entirely new class of materials that provide previously unheard-of control over their composition, structure, and defect detection. Traditionally used in low-volume electronics, nanoceramics have recently been used to create stronger, larger materials such as aerospace and aircraft engines and electronic devices. The internal reinforcing fiber, which is usually made of polymer-based ceramics, gives the composite strength and durability and consists of amorphous or nanocrystalline ceramics. One can generate porous nanomaterials or dense homogenous ceramic composites, depending on the ageing and drying conditions. These scientists work on a variety of disciplines, including genetics, biomedical engineering; nanomaterials were examined in fuel cells, anti-corrosion coatings, biotechnology, and photocatalysis.
