Abstract

One of the most urgent issues facing the modern world is environmental degradation. A potential approach that offers notable improvements in environmental remediation—more especially in air filtration, water purification and pollution capture—is nanocomposite technology. The most recent advancements in nanocomposite materials and their uses in environmental cleaning are examined in this study. Nanocomposites have demonstrated remarkable capabilities in the field of water filtration, including the elimination of organic contaminants, heavy metals, and microbes. Traditional filters’ adsorption capacity and selectivity are increased by adding nanoscale materials like metallic nanoparticles, graphene oxide, and carbon nanotubes. Furthermore, nanocomposites play a key role in the photocatalytic destruction of contaminants, which improves the effectiveness and sustainability of water purification.
