Abstract

Performance management focuses on the link between organizational objectives/strategy and performance measurement systems (PMSs). GenAI can be employed to create multiple PMSs if they know about them. Financial performance measures focus on controlling the financial input (cash availability, expenses) and output (revenues, profits) of the organization. Strategic controls emphasize the content of strategic actions rather than their short-term results. Environmental, Social, and Governance reporting framework evaluates a company's sustainability and ethical impact, often used by investors and other stakeholders to assess a company's performance beyond traditional financial metrics. The International Integrated Reporting Council developed a framework for integrated reporting, emphasizing “integrated thinking” in decision-making. The chapter also helps the readers to identify approaches using analytics and AI to analyze performance measures. The balanced scorecard intends to be a feed-forward control system as it links outcome measures and performance.
