Aerial‐Aided Edge Computing
Abstract
In conventional practice, applications have transmitted data from smart devices to a central data center for processing. The potential advantages of edge computing for mobile computing were first depicted by Brian Noble in 1997. Aerial edge computing provides faster insights, better bandwidth availability, low network latency, boosted scalability, real-time analytics, improved reliability, cost savings, less response times, better security. In Aerial edge devices, being internet-enabled is not essential like in IoT devices. Businesses use Aerial edge devices to process data locally to enhance efficiency and minimize disruptions. Hewlett Packard Enterprise offers a wide range of deployment and operations tools based on hardware and integrated software. Aerial edge computing is enabling unprecedented advancements in transportation technology like autonomous cars and drones. Aerial edge computing uses its layered network architecture for enhancing the efficacy of 6G by reducing the distance travelled by speedy data. Numerous hardware, software, and networking options are promised by aerial edge computing. Over the last decade, the quantity of linked devices and generated data has grown exponentially.
