Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI), the internet of things (IoT), and sixth-generation (6G) wireless networks are significant progress in the development of sustainable smart cities and electric vehicles (EVs). With cities striving to achieve a cleaner, more efficient, and technology-driven environment, AI and IoT are part of the 6G architecture that will give real-time intelligence, reliable connectivity, and technology-based automation across city infrastructure and transportation networks. This chapter discusses the way these technologies are being used to help create smart cities, which are concerned with the environment, energy efficiency, and enhanced mobility to promote the use of electric vehicles. This study will analyze the interaction between an AI based decision-making, IoT sensing, and ultra-low latency 6G networks to enhance innovation in EV ecosystems and services in smart cities, such as smart grids, waste management, traffic optimization, predictive maintenance, and safe data exchange. There are also some very significant case studies discussed in the chapter, there are also security matters and areas to be pursued in the future, to have a total and safe digital urban future.
