Unlocking Machine Learning
Abstract
In this chapter, we will explore the critical importance of machine learning to better nanoscale device fabrication. With the ever-increasing need for high-performance nanodevices, traditional manufacturing methods fall apart over the issues of efficiency and adaptability. Using techniques within machine learning, scientists can improve several processes including lithography and etching plus material selection to be able to work with time-based optimizations as well as models predicting these. We discuss case studies of successful machine learning on different instances of nanodevices, such as sensors and energy storage solutions. These inventions enhance performance and make it much more reliable. We address the challenges and ethical considerations that arise in the implementation of machine learning in nanofabrication and highlight the importance of interdisciplinarity in the challenges that must be faced. The conclusion of this chapter will be how machine learning has the potential to revolutionize the landscape of nanodevice fabrication into a new era of technological breakthrough and applications.
