AI‐Powered Advancements in Autonomous Vehicle Technologies
Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) is involved in such much development concerning the Autonomous Vehicles (AVs). AVs were simple systems but turned into complex ones capable of navigating through demanding terrains with hardly any support from humans due to AI-based technologies. Decisions for AI-driven autonomies are taken based on a variety of technologies like machine and deep learning, computer vision (CV), and sensor fusion. These technologies that vary among each other, nevertheless, enable interpreting sensor data, understanding their environment and ensuring decision making that facilitates the safety of their timing in an efficient and easy manner. And the improving sales of vehicles are just an addition to AI adaptation that keeps learning, transforming, and performing control over various dynamic and real-time environments. Several challenges are to be solved as it witnesses acknowledgement of public acceptance, safety, ethics, and regulation challenges. The objective of this chapter is to present the involvement of AI technologies in the automation of autonomous vehicles with their basic functions of work, application, and acceptance barriers, identifying those problems, and constraints that need further attention to support the growth of this sector.
