Five Solar Moments Model
Abstract
The Five Solar Moments Model integrates the daily Muslim prayers into a structured leadership reflection practice, offering a framework for mindfulness, self-awareness and ethical decision-making. Rooted in the concept of ‘Khalifa’, or moral responsibility, the model aligns leadership with gratitude, compassion, accountability, vulnerability and divine guidance. It utilises five key moments throughout the day, inspired by the daily prayer schedule, allowing leaders to pause, reflect and ground their actions in core values. While faith-based, the model can also be adapted for secular leadership, encouraging individuals to connect with their inner voice and assess their intentions. By following this reflective process, leaders cultivate discipline, integrity and responsibility in their decision-making. Anchored in Islamic principles, such as ‘Taqwa’ (God-consciousness) and ‘Amana’ (trust and purpose), the model fosters personal and professional growth. It provides leaders with a structured approach to align their actions with moral principles, enhancing both leadership effectiveness and spiritual fulfilment.
