Abstract

The ERSHAD leadership framework is rooted in Islamic principles and integrates ethical, behavioural, and leadership dimensions to develop effective leadership skills. Leadership, particularly within an Islamic context, requires the ability to inspire, influence and guide others while upholding high moral standards. The framework emphasises building strong relationships based on trust, respect and ethical integrity. ERSHAD leadership coaching follows a structured conversational process comprising four phases: discovery, intention, pathways and effort. These phases support leaders in self-reflection, goal-setting and decision-making while ensuring alignment with their values and beliefs. The framework's core concept of alignment fosters personal and professional growth by encouraging leaders to balance ethical responsibilities with practical leadership skills. By applying ERSHAD principles, leaders can enhance their decision-making abilities, maintain integrity and develop resilience in challenging situations. Ultimately, this approach promotes a holistic development process that aligns leadership practices with faith, ethical responsibility and organisational success.
