Rahmah
Abstract
The Clarity, Awakening, Resolution and Empowerment (CARE) model, rooted in the Islamic concept of Rahmah (compassion), provides a structured framework for leadership development through coaching. Islamic teachings emphasise the all-encompassing mercy of Allah, reflected in the attributes Ar-Rahman (The Most Compassionate) and Ar-Rahim (The Most Merciful). This divine compassion serves as a guiding principle for leaders, encouraging them to foster a supportive and non-judgemental environment. The CARE model incorporates two essential reflective practices: Tafakkur (active reasoning) and Tadabbur (deep contemplation), enabling individuals to explore possibilities and align their goals with deeper values. The model follows four key stages—Clarity, Awakening, Resolution and Empowerment—to guide individuals toward self-discovery, intentional decision-making and personal growth. By integrating Islamic principles, the CARE model empowers leaders to cultivate ethical leadership, encourage reflective thinking and create meaningful change. This approach ensures leadership is grounded in compassion, fostering a culture of empathy, responsibility and self-awareness.
