Abstract

When it comes to natural cellulosic fibres other than cotton, fibres such as flax, hemp, jute, ramie and sisal come to mind. In the past, the use of natural cellulosic fibres other than cotton and flax in clothing was not very common. However, today, there has been an increasing interest in fibres such as hemp and ramie within the framework of sustainable production. In addition, regenerated cellulosic fibres such as viscose, modal and lyocell also have an important area of use. Although the dyeing principles of all these fibres are basically similar to those of cotton fibre, there are some differences. This chapter provides information on the dyeing of cellulosic fibres other than cotton.
