Abstract

The growing needs of wireless networks have led to a significant increase in the adoption of Internet of Everything (IoE)-based smart services. This necessitates evaluating wireless networks with improved characteristics as communication systems of the future. Even while fifth-generation (5G) networks have a lot of promise for supporting a variety of IoE-based services, they are not able to meet all of the requests of the latest sophisticated applications. Subsequently, there is an increased necessity to envision sixth-generation (6G) wireless communication technologies in order to overcome the primary deficiencies of existing 5G networks. Furthermore, adding artificial intelligence (AI) to 6G will solve extremely difficult network optimization problems. To further improve the next 6G networks, researchers are also investigating novel technologies like terahertz (THz) and quantum communications. Future 6G wireless communications will need to manage massive data-driven applications and a growing clientele. Unlike previous research, this one concentrates on the most recent advancements and patterns in 6G technology, together with the essential network architecture, important auxiliary technologies, and a detailed comparison of use cases between 5G and 6G networks. In order to support smart communities, this research also examines new 6G connectivity options such as edge computing, holographic beamforming, AI-enabled Internet of Things (IoT) networks, and backscatter communications. Additionally, a number of potential research avenues are emphasized in order to achieve 6G-based IoT networks. This study examines the fundamental ideas and technologies guiding the development of the IoT and 6G wireless communication networks. The need for ubiquitous, intelligent, and instantaneous services has paved the way for 6G, even if 5G networks revolutionized mobile communications with their incredibly dependable communication with little latency and extensive device connectivity. The technical underpinnings of 6G, including THz communication, AI-native architectures, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS), and quantum communication, are examined in this study. Furthermore, with an emphasis on vast, vital, and tactile IoT, we examine how IoT systems are changing in light of 6G capabilities. The difficulties with spectrum management, security, energy efficiency, and edge computing integration are also covered in the paper. This study provides insight into how the confluence of 6G and IoT will influence the next era of hyper-connected, intelligent settings through a thorough examination and future roadmap. The convergence of 6G wireless technology and the IoT has the potential to completely transform communication infrastructures, enabling ultrareliable, low-latency, and intelligent networks. Several scholarly articles have explored this synergy, highlighting advancements, applications, and challenges.
