Abstract

This chapter recognizes the expertise of international and regional authorities in hydrogen sulfide (H 2 S) hazards, focusing on risk recognition and prevention. It acknowledges key organizations such as Energy Safety Canada, the US Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB), the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the National Institute of Safety and Health (NIOSH), the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH), and the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). The chapter highlights the importance of these bodies in advancing safety standards and practices related to H 2 S, with a particular emphasis on their roles in risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and incident prevention.
