Thyroid Health: Your Energy Engine

This chapter will review cancer-related causes of thyroid dysfunction which lead to fatigue. Causes include thyroidectomy, radiation to the head and neck, radiation for breast cancer, and the use of certain classes of immunotherapy. The thyroid is the master metabolic controller, and a book about fatigue would not be complete without mention of the thyroid. Evidence-based complementary therapies will be recommended that have been shown to increase T4 and T3, and decrease thyroid antibodies.
