Peace with Food, Power with Weight Loss
Abstract
Weight gain is common in cancer survivors, especially in breast cancer survivors and prostate cancer survivors. Weight gain is a contributor to fatigue but is also associated with other symptoms and behaviors that also contribute to fatigue, such as depression, lower likelihood to exercise, and less motivation to eat well. Weight gain after a cancer diagnosis is also linked to increased recurrence rates and mortality. Weight loss methods will be discussed in this chapter, as well as a discussion about how to improve our relationship with food.
