Running Apps
Abstract
Spotlight is a handy way to see all the apps installed in the people MacBook's Applications folder and its subfolders. The MacBook comes with many useful apps already installed, such as Safari for browsing the Web, Mail for reading and sending e-mail, and Music for enjoying music and video. Running an app full screen helps the people focus on that app, removing the distraction of other open apps. The Mission Control feature helps the people manage their desktop and switch among apps and windows. As well as App Switcher and Mission Control, discussed earlier in this chapter, macOS provides a feature called Stage Manager for switching among the apps the people are working with. Stage Manager places the active window center stage and arranges a handful of the most recently used apps in a stack on the left side of the screen.
