Abstract

Safari is the default browser for macOS. The most straightforward way to reach a webpage is to type or paste its unique address, which is called a uniform resource locator or URL, into the address box in Safari. Safari keeps a separate path of pages in each open tab and each open window so the readers can move separately in each tab or window. Many websites contain music files or video files that they can play directly in the Safari browser. The chapter also shows the SoundCloud music website and the YouTube video website as examples. Safari enables the readers to create markers called bookmarks for the addresses of web pages they want to be able to revisit easily. Safari's Reader View enables them to minimize distractions by displaying only the text of a web page in an easily readable format.
