Future Trends in Wearable Healthcare Technology
Abstract
People's health is more accessible than ever, and this is made possible using wearable technology, which is transforming at a staggering rate. With that said, this chapter will discuss the most recent changes and innovations that are anticipated to alter the healthcare industry. An important change is the integration of high-technology sensors. These advanced sensors allow devices to not only monitor vital signs, but also collect intricate physiologic information. When combined with artificial intelligence, machine learning, and those sensors, we are now given tailored healthcare advice. Health issues are now being detected at an early stage. Another massive change is the miniaturization of the device, which has now made it less bulky, increases comfort, and helps with daily tasks. These changes encourage their use in chronic disease management and patient monitoring. The innovation of new materials is also changing these devices. Flexible biocompatible materials now allow for actual constant monitoring of a person's health, making it more comfortable and preventing skin irritation. These materials, along with the incorporation of augmented reality and virtual reality into wearables, now provide a unique healthcare experience. Medical training, patient education, and treatment delivery could utilize this technology. Wearables, sensors, and artificial intelligence are now being integrated, and this is crucial for personal health management because outcomes and quality of life will be drastically improved.
