Objections and Rebuttals of Current Laws
Abstract
Objections can be raised about this concept of space-time, even though it is no longer debated within the scientific community. The free fall of a body under the influence of the Earth's gravity, which dates back to the 17th century, is a law devised by Galileo. In classical mechanics, and namely the theory of relativity, constant-velocity rotation is an accelerated motion. Galileo's invariance or principle of inertia proves to be incomplete, because it refers to the motion of uniform translation only. The notion of space-time, introduced in the 17th century by Lerond-d'Alembert, was recovered by the theory of special relativity and then developed in general relativity by Einstein. The current equations of mechanics are based on the conservation of mass, but also on that of energy duplicated by an equation of motion, which also expresses a conservation of energy.
