Context Modeling for Actor Activity (CxG_1.0)
Abstract
This chapter discusses the modeling and use of context for the activity of an actor. The actor plays a central role in the four modeling levels when interacting with the activity. The four modeling levels are: the conceptual level, the operational level, the implementation level, and the environment level. The focus of attention of the actor divides context into contextual knowledge and external knowledge. Complementary to the engineering approach, the cognitive approach provides a computational support for effectively representing, analyzing and simulating activities in real-world applications. In a real-world application, experts use their experience with an activity based on their operational knowledge as well as domain knowledge. The chapter presents the tools developed to implement the idea of CxG formalism. It presents the cognitive and designed tools for the full exploitation of the CxG formalism, namely the CxG elaboration, working context, proceduralized context, voting system and the tree representation.
