Abstract

This chapter naturally extends the context-based modeling of an activity applying the results to group activities. The presentation is based on the four levels – conceptual, operational, implementation and environment – the extensions at the conceptual level including the concepts of shared context, turn and the notion of CxG-based simulation. Shared-context building is the first step of a collaborative process of decision-making and shared-context management consists of collecting and managing contextual elements, processing the proceduralized context and building group mental model. The extensions at the operational level concern the notion of the turn mechanism and group activity and the new specifications of the CxG formalism. At the implementation level, the chapter introduces the notion of the reserved contextual element and the mechanism of a CxG-based simulation. At the environment level, it shows the importance of looking at the interaction between activity development (operational and implementation levels) and its environment.
