Abstract

This chapter presents four applications in different domains, and a fifth application is an attempt at illustrating the possibilities of approach in Semiotics. The first example concerns a high-level summary about all that was known in the 1990s about breast cancer diagnosis. The second example concerns hierarchical task analysis. The third example is the ACA application. The fourth example presents a contextualization of the anatomical and cytology pathology (ACP) workflow for analyzing nonconformity in the ACP Department. The fifth example is chosen in a semiotic approach of the transfer of the Walt Disney Company made during internationalization in Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris with the same international strategy, but there are two opposite results: a success in Japan and a failure in France. The modeling of the task realization in the contextual graph formalism is based on the four sources of contextual elements coming from the actor, the task, the situation and the local environment.
