Abstract

This chapter addresses the economic aspects of process analyzer installations. It first discusses simple need-to-install situations, followed by almost-need-to-install cases based on safety and loss prevention. Next is the more common situation of trying to sell a system based on how much extra revenue its operation will return back to the company after it is installed and commissioned. Continuous emissions monitoring systems are packaged in a variety of formats, and a preponderance of technology is available with which to make the necessary measurements. One of the most common ways to treat wastewater is with a biotreater. The most reliable means of monitoring ground water is by deep-well monitoring, which, as its name implies, consists of drilling a well or bore into the ground-water table and installing the sensing devices or sample-removal devices at this level.
