Abstract

The ability of a company to implement and manage proven technology can be significantly affected by nontechnical issues. The effective management of these personnel and organizational issues can to a large extent determine the success or failure of a process analyzer program. The first line of defense in the productivity effort is the quality, experience, and knowledge of the personnel who work in the process analyzer area. An analyzer team can weather many of the personnel problems associated with making difficult decisions. A team decision that has been carefully thought out with long-term goals and the company's best interest in mind can still be the subject of intense scrutiny. Business training conducted by one's company may help an experienced new hire get feet on the ground faster. Those needing work with interpersonal skills and so forth can benefit from these types of courses.
