Abstract

BT&C Produits Electrotechnique was created to respond to the needs of a specific category of corporate customers. This chapter helps the reader to understand how implementing a Warehousing Management System changed order management practices in a firm distributing electrical engineering products. By allowing it to track orders in real time and ensure the traceability of product flows, the tool has enabled the firm to make significant savings. To always offer the best solutions for its customers, BT&C Produits Electrotechniques is in contact with numerous manufacturers to stay informed of technical developments and ensure that it maintains its level of competitiveness in its highly competitive market. BT&C's market is mainly B2B (Business-to-Business) (95%) with relatively modest B2C (Business-to-Consumer) activity. To meet growing demand from its various sales channels, BT&C manages a stock of nearly 70,000 references in a single warehouse, which also serves as its head office.
