Abstract

Abstract The lex Visigothorum is a legal source from the 7th century ce . The first draft is attributed to king Chindaswinth and his son Recceswinth. With a particular interest in the procedural aspect, it deals with a wide range of legal issues, from family law to obligations. This law survived even after the Visigothic kingdom ended, and it is translated into Spanish in the code of king Ferdinand III, dated 1241.
