Abstract

Abstract The introduction of the horse to Egypt led to several technological advances and with them changes in mobility and warfare. The horse found its way into the Egyptian artistic and literary traditions, reflecting its principal use as a mode of transportation for elite individuals, as well as for the army in warfare. Numerous sources inform us how the horse was used in ancient Egypt and how the animal was received by society.
