Polydimethylsiloxane‐Treated Liquid‐Metal‐Modified Graphene Aerogels as Thermal Interface Materials
Abstract
Graphene aerogel (GA) as a revolutionary carbonaceous material is potentially applied in many fields due to its unique porous structure, low density, and excellent electronic conduction properties. More and more scientists pay their attention on GA research, especially in energy, environmental protection, and catalytic technology. The properties of GA can be enhanced or changed by modification in order to obtain GA with high‐performance or new functions. Liquid‐metal (LM)‐modified GA (GA/LM) were first synthesized using the bubble template method. Then, the resulting composite material with excellent thermal conductivity was successfully prepared by impregnating the preprepared GA/LM into polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) solution. Comparison with that of GA/LM, the thermal conductivity of the GA/LM‐PDMS was increased by 14.77 times. Its glass transition temperature reached 66.79°C. Moreover, the composite exhibits pronounced anisotropic thermal management characteristics, demonstrating its direction dependent in heat transfer performance. This highly anisotropic structural design can effectively accelerate heat dissipation, which is beneficial for the operation efficiency and service life of electronic devices.
