Harnessing Phase‐Transition Hysteresis for Enhanced Thermoelectric Performance of Ductile Ag 2 (S, Se, Te) (Adv. Funct. Mater. 34/2026)
Abstract
Thermoelectric Performance In their Research Article (10.1002/adfm.202531655), Kunpeng Zhao, Ting Zhang, Xun Shi, and co-workers show that pronounced phase-transition hysteresis in ductile Ag2(S,Se,Te) enables stabilization of distinct crystal phases at room-temperature solely through thermal treatment. Leveraging this effect yields an orthorhombic phase with a power factor up to 16 µW cm−1 K−2 and a zT of ∼0.5 near room temperature, revealing a composition-independent pathway to high-performance flexible thermoelectrics.
