Recent Advances in Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Scintillators for X‐Ray Imaging
Abstract
ABSTRACT Thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) scintillators have emerged as promising candidates for advancing next‐generation X‐ray imaging technologies, offering potential merits over conventional scintillators in terms of high exciton utilization efficiency, low cost, and flexibility. In this review, we mainly classify the TADF scintillators into purely organic molecules, metal‐based complexes, perovskites, organic ionic salts, and energy transfer‐based host‐guest systems, and summarize their recent advancements in terms of structural design, optoelectronic characteristics, and scintillation performance. Furthermore, we also offer our conclusions and present the outlook on future prospects regarding the remaining challenges in this research field in order to promote the development of high‐efficiency TADF‐based scintillators. The primary objective of this review is to consolidate our existing knowledge in this area and deepen our comprehension of the relationship between the molecular structures and scintillation performances of TADF materials.
