Abstract

ABSTRACT With the increasing bioanalytical demands, the development of new biodetection techniques is rapidly expanding. Herein, this study reports a new operation mode of energy‐efficient organic photoelectrochemical memtransistor (OPECmT) biodetection. The methodology is synergistically realized by leveraging the characteristics of organic photoelectrochemical transistor (OPECT) and memtransistor. Different from the constantly applied channel voltage ( V D ) in previous OPECT biodetection, only a pulsed V D is needed to operate the OPECmT biodetection without the standby energy input. Significantly, the total energy consumption of OPECmT biodetection is much lower than that of OPECT by two orders of magnitude. Exemplifying by a hybridization chain reaction‐assisted aptasensing, the feasibility of such a technique is then tested by detecting the antibiotic enrofloxacin, which exhibits good analytical performance with a detection limit of 100 ag/mL and lower energy consumption as compared to many published methods. This work features the proof‐of‐concept study of energy‐efficient OPECmT biodetection, which can serve as a generic technique for advanced biological detection.
