Abstract

Intraocular Drug Delivery In the Research Article (DOI: 10.1002/adhm.202503230), Philipp Uhl and co-workers develop a liposomal methotrexate formulation, which enables minimally invasive, sustained intraocular drug delivery for over six weeks with single injection. Developed for treating intraocular diseases like lymphoma and proliferative vitreoretinopathy, it offers excellent biocompatibility in a porcine model. This innovative approach is non-inferior to repetitive bi-weekly injections of free methotrexate, providing a safer, and cost-effective alternative.
