Abstract

ABSTRACT Triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) as an emerging energy harvesting and electromechanical conversion technology, becoming an ideal solution to the power supply problem of distributed micro‐devices. However, its core performance is limited by interface characteristics. The large roughness of the traditional triboelectric interface seriously restricts efficiency of electromechanical energy conversion. Meanwhile, triboelectric interface material wear will accelerate the failure of the TENG and affect its long‐term stability. Structural superlubricity (SSL) technology can not only maximize the effective contact area and suppress charge embedding, but also reduce the friction coefficient, significantly enhancing the intrinsic charge density and device lifespan. This review focuses on the research of novel TENG devices based on SSL technology (SSL‐TENG), aiming to systematically sort out the technological evolution, core breakthroughs and future directions in this cross‐disciplinary field. The principle of SSL technology, the types and characteristics of SSL interfaces are expounded, and the current research status of SSL‐TENG is summarized. Finally, we further explore the currently key challenges in this field and propose the future development direction, which may provide reference value and support for promoting the development of SSL‐TENG.
